Giving to St Nicolas Church donate-online

The Coronavirus has presented a significant number of challenges to most of us, as we are forced to go about our lives in different and creative ways. For many, personal income will have changed and some may be experiencing financial difficulties, unfortunately, this is also true for St Nicolas Church - through for instance, hall bookings being cancelled for many months, which alone reduced our income by over £5,000 each quarter, our fund raising events not being able to be held, and not receiving fees for weddings and funerals.

The finance team currently estimate the overall impact of the Coronavirus on the church finances to be up to £50,000 in this year. Please see an appeal letter from Rev'd Roy and a brochure giving additional facts and figures.

Encouragingly, we have been asked by a number of parishioners, how they can continue to give during the pandemic. There are currently a number of ways -  In order of preference they are to: -

Direct Debit \ Parish Giving Scheme (PGS):
This is a direct debit scheme and can now be set up online. PGS handle the direct debit, admin and gift aid elements and pass 100% of the donations and gift aid to us each month.    For more information and to sign up, please go to: https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/donors/find-your-parish/cranleigh-st-nicolas-cranleigh/Please consider allowing your donation to increase annually with inflation when asked and if please consider not setting your donation to anonymous as this allows us to get in touch with you. Details of donors are only known to the Stewardship Officer and only used in relation to PGS scheme (e.g. Thank You Letters).

Pay by standing order:
This can be arranged on-line, or over the phone with your bank as either a one off or regular donation. Our bank details are Lloyds Bank, sort code 30-94-41 and account 01805965 account name of 'Cranleigh PCC'. Please give your surname and postcode as the reference.

Donate Online:
We have set up a "go fund me" campaign to allow for online donations. This can be found at the top of this page. If you are able to do so, please tick the Gift Aid box. All donations made here will be paid directly to the Church.

Donate via Text Message:
We have also arranged for the ability to donate up to £20 via text message, this can be done as a one off or set up regularly each month:
For a one off donation:  Text the word stnics followed by a space, followed by the amount you wish to donate in numbers to 70470. e.g.  stnics 10  for a one off donation of £10.

For a regular monthly donation: Text the word stnicspcm followed by a space, followed by the amount you wish to donate in numbers to 70470. e.g.  stnicspcm 20 for a monthly recurring donation of £20.

After you have donated, you will receive an additional text  message regarding gift aid, if you are able to, please follow the guidance in that message.

Write a Cheque:
Either as a one off, monthly or each week, payable to Cranleigh PCC and send it to the church office for the attention of the Stewardship Officer, Church Lane, Cranleigh GU6 8AR. Please note, however, cheques may take several weeks to clear your account.

Envelopes:
Regular giving scheme - White envelopes

If currently you use weekly white envelopes, you can put your donation in your white envelope as you would normally.
When possible, please post any white envelopes through the Church Office door. This will be checked on regularly.
When coming to Church, these can be placed in the usual box which is cleared regularly.

Blue envelope donations
When the Church is open you can complete a blue envelope including the Gift Aid declaration on the envelope itself and place that in the usual box.

The first 3 options have the advantage of not needing cash for those of us who are not meant to be going out, and also that no one from the church needs to go out.

Online Shopping:
There are a number of ways you can help support the Church through cash back as you shop online. For more details, please see our online shopping page.
